Vision

Mining involves a unique transition from 3D (spatial in-situ) to 4D (time stamped spatial extraction) to 2D (batch delivered to final destinations) with multiple characteristics of varying certainty utilised throughout. Analytics in this space requires understanding these interactions, their limitations and opportunities from integration.

Integration

New and emerging technologies (e.g. real time sensing and sorting) are enabling more precise data resolution but are still generally applied in isolation to specific stages of the mining value chain. Application of these technologies then generally encounters one of two problems; either, produced characteristics are viewed as too different from standard practice or information is bulk averaged for simplicity and loses the major benefit of the technology. Both problems stem from imprecise connections between the transition from in-situ to delivered at short intervals (day, shift, hour, bucket).

Integrated analytics of these complex systems is not only necessary but vital in ensuring new technologies are embraced.

Ongoing activities include; rapid evaluations, life of mine integration, preconcentration reviews.
