Vision
If a picture paints a thousand words then animations are 24,000 words per second. Visualisation is a key tool to convey complex topics and outcomes quickly (e.g. 9 months of mining).
Integration
By embedding visualisation as an integral part of workflows the communication of what was done, what the output was and what the key learnings are is simplified. A large number of activities take 3D data through multiple different software packages (incl. Excel) to then re-import back into a 3D package to then make a visualisation to take a snapshot to go in a presentation. This workflow can be improved.
A subset of the mining industry lack the ability to load up site data they’re working on in 3D (usually due to prohibitive license/training requirements). While some free mining software packages are available these are generally limited in their functionality. Alternatively open-source software is generally limited in its applicability to the mining data. Work is ongoing to align industry leading software from outside the mining industry with the specific challenges mining and its data brings.
Current Work
Ongoing activities include; sequence visualisation, generic mining data viewer development
